GROUP CLASSES

Recall & Heeling Class

Covers several different heeling methods, all intended to make heeling more fun for your dog and to encourage both handler and dog to become more body-aware.  A variety of recall games are introduced to encourage enthusiasm and straightness on the recall.  This class is appropriate for handlers preparing to compete in Rally or Novice Obedience and for owners who are looking to sharpen their pet manners skills and bring them to the next level.  Next offered: 1st class day on August 8, 2010 Sunday 1:00-2:00. Novice Rally I

This class includes ½ of the Rally Novice signs, the rules of AKC Rally, 1 short course each class, and introduction to heel.  Check our calendar for the next scheduled class. Register now!

Novice Rally II

This class includes the remaining Novice signs, the rules of AKC Rally-O, 1 full Novice course each class, and heeling with right and left turns. Check our calendar for the next scheduled class. Register now!

Advanced Rally

This class includes introduction of the 14 AKC Advanced Rally signs and the broad & bar jumps, 1 short Advanced mini-course each class, and continuing heel work.  Next Offered: 1st class day on Saturday, July 31, 2010, 1:00-2:00pm.

Excellent Rally

Introduction of 6 AKC Rally Excellent signs, the high jump, 1 full Excellent course each class, continuing heel work.  Excellent Rally is being considered as a future class offering.  Please let us know if you have interest.

  PRIVATE CLASSES

  Novice Rally I & II, Private

  Private Novice Rally lessons combine the curriculum of the Novice Rally I and Novice Rally II group classes.  If you prefer more individual attention, this is a great option for you and your dog.  Lessons are scheduled at Southpaws Playschool. I encourage students particpating in private training to join the drop-in classes Austin Dog Sports offers at no additional charge. Register now!
  

  • 7 sessions, 45 minutes each
  • $325, includes participation in scheduled Rally Drop-In classes
    
  • Prereq: Heeling & Position Seminar or Instructor Evaluation (15-30 min), $25 – applied to course, if enrolled

  Novice Rally I & II, In-Home

  In-Home Rally lessons combine the curriculum of the Novice Rally I and Novice Rally II group classes.  Lessons are held at your home. I encourage students particpating in private training to join the drop-in classes Austin Dog Sports offers at no additional charge. This option is available on a limited basis for students residing in South Austin.  Register now!

  • 7 sessions, 45 minutes each
  • $325 + a $15 travel fee per session, includes participation in scheduled Rally Drop-In classes
  • Prereq: Heeling & Position Seminar or Instructor Evaluation (15-30 min), $25 – applied to course, if enrolled
